|FD||The lens is designed for Canon 35 mm film SLR cameras and is not compatible with Canon EOS digital SLR cameras due to shorter flange focal distance of Canon FD mount.|
|S.S.C.||The Super Spectra Coating is applied to the surface of lens elements. It boosts light transmission, ensures sharp and high contrast images, minimizes ghosting and flares.|

Design and Features
This is a full-fledged macro lens enabling shooting from infinity to half life-size of the photographed object (life-sized when using a life-size adapter) without accessories.
The newly designed optical system completely compensates for faults such as aberrations and reductions in marginal illumination that tend to occur in close-up shooting, enabling sharp and high-contrast expression throughout the entire frame from life-size to infinity.
This lens also provides excellent operability by incorporating an information mechanism for full-aperture metering and stop-down metering in addition to a fully automatic diaphragm control mechanism.
