Design and Features
This lens was designed based on the new optical theory put forward by Canon, which plays a pioneering role in the optics industry. Industrial performance such as high resolution, strict compensation of aberration, complete elimination of flare, spectra coating expected to offer the best effect to color shooting, and rich marginal illumination guarantee the best possible quality and standards as a “photographic objective.”
Super-Canomatic lenses that constantly offer a bright full-aperture field before and after shooting have included the Canonflex standard 50mm f/1.8 lens and the long focus 100mm f/2 lens. The addition of the large-aperture 135mm f/2.5 lens has completed the “trio” of Super-Canomatic lenses.
It lives up to its name as a first-class large-aperture 135mm lens due to high performance shown by the stable performance of a 4-group/ 6-element symmetric (gauss type) optical system, the practical utility of telephoto 135mm, particularly the brightness of f/2.5, clearness without flare even at full aperture and uniform resolution throughout the entire frame provided by strict compensation of chromatic aberration.
